The IFMT Code of Practice has
been developed according to the opinions and expectations of today's
consumers. This information is obtained through in-house market research and ongoing surveys. Every six months
the data is collated and passed to an
independent Consumer Committee. The Consumer Committee consists of Irish
consumers from all walks of life, some of whom have a professional
background in a customer service related environment or the building
industry. The Consumer Committee analyse the data and is responsible for
recommending a proposal for the revised edition of the Code of
Practice. Our commitment to consumers ensures that a strong consumer voice
is heard through our organisation.
The first edition of
our Code of Practice can be found below. It is due to be revised in June
2006. When members become affiliated to the IFMT they are expected to
work within the IFMT Code of Practice, inforce on day 1 of their
membership for the
duration of 12 months. When an application is due for annual review
members will be expected to work to the current/revised edition of the
Code of Practice.
